Double-station Roller Hearth Steel Pipe Quenching & Tempering Production Line


1. Equipment Composition: Composed of feeding mechanism, roller hearth quenching furnace, multi-station quenching mechanism, tempering furnace feeding mechanism, roller hearth tempering furnace, discharging rack and electrical control system.


2. Available Process: Quenching and tempering.


3. Heating Fuel: Natural gas.


4. Processed Workpieces: Petroleum drill pipes, casings, oil tubings, geological drill pipes and other steel pipes.


5. Main Features:

Adopts multi-station operation design to improve production efficiency. The steel pipes undergo overall quenching with external spraying and internal jet cooling, achieving uniform cooling effect and minimal workpiece deformation. The whole line adopts distributed control system. Equipped with supporting auxiliary facilities, the equipment can realize fully unmanned automatic operation.


3. Eight Core System Compositions of the Complete Production Line


1. Inlet & Outlet Roller Table Conveying Unit

It consists of loading platform, inlet roller table, outlet roller table and unloading platform driven by synchronous variable frequency motors to convey workpieces at a constant speed. Automatic material separating, aligning and length measuring devices can be configured.


2. Heat-resistant Furnace Roller Transmission System (Core Conveying Component)

Furnace rollers are made of heat-resistant alloy steel, water-cooled composite material or silicon carbide. Each roller is driven by an independent variable-frequency motor via universal couplings and rotates continuously at low speed to avoid high-temperature deformation. Roller spacing and rotating speed can be adjusted according to workpiece thickness and length.


3. Insulated Furnace Body

Steel structure shell lined with multi-layer composite thermal insulation including high-alumina refractory fiber, nano thermal insulation boards and lightweight refractory bricks, with outer wall temperature rise ≤40℃. The hearth is divided into independent temperature control zones to effectively eliminate temperature difference between the head and tail of workpieces.


4. Heating System

Gas-fired version: Low-NOx pulse burners, radiant tubes and flue gas waste heat recovery heat exchangers;

Electric heating version: High-temperature resistance bands, silicon carbide rods and thyristor power regulation modules with independent PID temperature control for each zone.


5. Forced Convection Circulation System (Standard for Atmosphere Furnaces)

High-temperature circulating fans together with flow guide ducts make hot gas circulate up and down around workpieces to reduce cross-section temperature difference and ensure uniform heating of the whole pipe or plate.


6. Atmosphere Supply & Airlock Sealing System

It includes nitrogen and hydrogen delivery pipelines, pressure stabilizing valves, oxygen probes and carbon potential detectors. Front and rear vacuum airlock chambers, pneumatic sealed furnace doors and air curtains are adopted to reduce atmosphere leakage and air infiltration.


7. Quenching & Cooling Supporting System (Exclusive for Quenching-Tempering Lines)

Internal and external spray quenching devices for pipes, roller press quenching machines for plates, cooling water tanks, circulating filtration water treatment systems and forced air slow cooling sections.


8. PLC Distributed Automatic Control System

Equipped with HMI touch screen man-machine interface and multi-segment programmable temperature curves. Roller speed, furnace temperature, atmosphere and cooling water pressure are linked and regulated automatically. Production process curves are automatically stored, with interlock alarm for over-temperature, flame failure, roller table malfunction and atmosphere leakage.
